My boyfriend and I are currently following a list of top restaurants in London and Ceviche features on that list so we thought we would give it a go. I checked online and the menu had so many options for those on a gluten free diet so I was really happy. It makes life so much easier when a menu is clearly labelled with the gluten free options available – thanks Ceviche!
We went for lunch and started with the Don Ceviche to share. Please note that we didn’t read the front of the menu where it clearly states to order 2 / 3 dishes per person – I would recommend following this as we considerably under ordered (to my disappointment). The Don Ceviche is a traditional Peruvian dish with raw fish (in this case Seabass) and a strong cold soup like liquid. After eating this dish your senses are completely alive ready for your next meal. I love strong flavours but I found this a little too powerful for me but my boyfriend loved it. Although I found it too strong I would recommend it as it is an unusual dish that many really love.
I then ordered the Salmon Campeon which was a piece of chilli and lime marinated grilled salmon with a beetroot, hazelnut and sweet potato purée. This piece of fish tasted so fresh and the flavours came through incredibly clean. This isn’t enough for a main meal but Ceviche don’t design their dishes to be enjoyed on their own – this would have gone lovely with a couple of other wonderful dishes on the menu.
My boyfriend ordered the Pollo a la Brasa which wasn’t gluten free but he thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to any diners who don’t need to follow a gluten free diet.
Although we didn’t try as much as we should have we are now raring to go back with friends so we can try lots of other wonderful, flavoursome and fresh dishes that Ceviche offers.
